February 22 @ 09:00 - 15:30

Woman eating a healthy lunch as part of her diabetes management

Free information day for people with Type 2 and pre-diabetes

Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) helps you better understand diabetes, its causes, and how to maintain/better your health. We host the DSME course in small groups to deliver the best value to all attendees and provide a safe environment for questions and learning.

Our Diabetes Nurse educator and Dietitian (with Podiatrist and Health Psychologist support) will discuss:

  • Healthy eating: label reading, good and bad fats, food choices
  • How to stop/control the effects of diabetes on the body (heart/eyes/kidneys/nerves/feet)
  • Medications – how they work and new choices available
  • Understanding your blood test results
  • Goal setting (action planning and free support available)
  • How to work with your health team

The course runs from 09:00am – 3:30pm. We’ll provide refreshments and there will be a break for lunch.

Please feel free to bring a family member or friend for support.

Bookings essential – contact us to register

Spaces are limited, so please contact us to book a spot.
